In April 1986, developer Wakter Larson purchased unfinished developments for $13.5 million after the partnership fail to pay the bank loans. Two decades later, Placido Bayou is currently grown into a gated community comprising of about 361 acres, with a total of 10 ponds within its boundaries. Placido Bayou has eleven separate neighborhoods named alphabetically from A through J where C is split into two distinct neighborhoods (CI and CII). All the Placido Bayou neighborhoods fall under the umbrella of the Master Community Association that oversees the daily operations.
